Chapter 2

Economy — The #1 Skill to Master

More than any unit or item knowledge, understanding gold is what separates a Top-4 player from a bottom-feeder. Every decision revolves around gold.

The 50g Rule: Saving 50g gives you +5 gold every round from interest. That's a huge passive income. Try to hover at or above 50g as often as possible in the mid-game.

When to Spend vs. Save

  1. Early game (Stages 1–2): Save aggressivelyDon't roll the shop. Just buy the best units you can afford and hold gold. Aim for 30–50g by Stage 2-5.
  2. Mid game (Stage 3): Decide your compLook at your bench, what traits you have, what the shop offers. Commit to a direction. Start spending if you need to level up.
  3. Level-up timingLevel 6 at Stage 3-2, Level 7 at Stage 4-1, Level 8 by Stage 4-5 is a common tempo. Higher level = bigger board = more units = more power.
  4. Rolling (rerolling the shop)Each roll costs 2g. Don't roll just to fill your board — roll when you have a clear target unit to complete a 3-star or finish a comp.

Quick Check: Economy

You have 47 gold. You see a unit you want in the shop for 2g. Buying it brings you to 45g. What's the cost of buying now vs. waiting one round?
